Project Overview

The US Navy approached Sayres, having identified the need to evolve its small surface combatants. It needed a new ship class with enhanced lethality and capability; one that could support a wide range of military operations and missions. Additionally, it needed a vessel that could maneuver in the more shallow, littoral zones, as well as the open ocean. The requirements to build such a ship class were vast and complex. This presented Sayres with the opportunity to use our deep-rooted expertise in both shipbuilding and program management to guide both the design and development.

In support of the Navy’s Program Executive Office, Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC), Sayres staff are responsible for the design, development, and construction of the Constellation Class Frigate (PMS 515). Supporting PMS 515 allows Sayres to continue providing outstanding service to the Fleet.

Solution

The presented opportunity was to provide integration support and waterfront expertise to the program and to assist the government in executing the construction of the US Navy’s next Generation Guided Missile Frigate.

Sayres possesses a demonstrated history of outstanding past performance on shipbuilding programs. In this case, Sayres personnel were sought out to bring specific, proven expertise in Professional Support Services. Our deep industry knowledge and resources allowed us to be successful on the deck plates, as well as in the Program Office
